Beauty: Barry M Super Satin Lip Paints

I have been meaning to settle down and write this post for so long but it's never actually happened. So today I am going to sit here and write about the Barry M Super Satin Lip Paints - wow that is a long name!

So first of all THE PACKAGING - The packaging is this mirrored silver bullet which is like the other Barry M lipsticks smalller than your average lipstick size. However this proves brilliant when you are going on a night out or using a small bag as they literally take up no room at all.

THE PRICE - They are priced at £4.99 from Superdrug which is a fairly reasonable price and generally you are able to get them on some offer for example buy one get one free or a 3 for 2 offer. I have however seen them in some places priced at £5.99 so it might be worth keeping an eye on that.

THE COLOURS - I don't know exactly how many colours are in this range but I currently have 5 and I love every shade although some are more daytime wearable for me and some are definitely more for the night.

Swatches of the shades I have are below -

Top to Bottom - 174, 172, 171, 169, 168

OVERVIEW OF THE LIPSTICK - These lipsticks are really wearable and creamy on the lips and are highly pigmented. Some of the darker shades I need to apply a lip liner for before applying as they tend to bleed into the lips.

They last for a fair amount of time on my lips which is no mean feat considering normally within an hour lipstick has to be reapplied. Overall I really rate and like these lipsticks and there are a enough shades to choose from without being overwhelmed by choice!

New Products: Simple Skincare

As soon as I see a new product I immediately have a little buzz of excitement and generally it doesn't matter what brand it's from or what is it - if it's new I'm in! So last week I spotted that not only was Simple Skincare half price in Superdrug but there were also a couple of products that were new!

So the new new Simple products I picked were the Dual Effect Eye Make-Up Remover and Hydrating Cleansing Oil.

I am always looking for a new eye make-up remover and I particularly liked the look of this one because it was a dual effect -with oil and water infused combination- that you shake to activate.

My first impressions of this product is that it really does works and as promised it dissolves my waterproof mascara! There's no strong scent to it and doesn't cause me any irritation at all around the eye area which is fantastic.

The second product is the hydrating cleansing oil which is unlike any other product within the Simple Skincare range. This is like most other cleansing oils in that the purpose is to dissolve any make-up whilst hydrating your skin.

My first impressions of this product is that it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my face like other oils and once it's washed off it's completely gone, my face doesn't feel sticky like the effect some products have. I haven't used this as much as the eye make-up remover so as I use it more I will let you know if my opinion changes.

I have tried to get links for these products online but can't actually find a link for them at the moment I'm afraid. I did get mine from Superdrug though and currently all of their Simple Skincare is half price so might be worth checking out!

Let me know if you try these and what your opinion is!

Skincare Treats

Half Price + Double Points Voucher = Skincare treats for myself from Superdrug! And I'm quite pleased with my purchases!

This product is amazing! I have just finished using up my last jar of this and I can honestly say my skin feels so good after using this. I've previously used Clinique Moisture Surge and this for me gives very similar results - with a much lower price point.

The packaging is in a glass jar which gives the product a nice more premium touch and the gel formula just really works for me! Massive thumbs up for this little jar of wonder!

I am a huge fan of facial water sprays that help cool you down when it's hot and don't make a mess of your make up but this product from Superdrug's B.Confident range is apparently an 'Instant skin Reviver'.

Now I haven't really had a chance to give this a good test out yet but so far I've found that is sinks into the skin quickly, no spray lingering and not setting in but I really can't stand the smell. And I can't really describe it either but maybe it will grow on me after a bit of use.

My final skincare treat is from Olay and this is from their Hydration range. The product I picked up was the 2 in 1 Lightweight Lotion with SPF 15 which was probably the selling point for me. I have a lot of moisturisers/lotions/creams but actually not that contain an SPF and with it being summer - when it gets here - it's so important to have an SPF.

Another thing I love about Olay is the classic smell which always reminds of my mum who has used Olay products for as long as I can remember. P.S the mini bottle size makes it extra cute to stick on my dressing table :).

Bargain Of The Week

I love nothing more than a bargain so I thought I'd do a post each week that contains the best value i.e the most amazing bargain of a product that I have managed to find that week.

And I am starting off on a brilliant one as this little beauty of a concealer brush cost me a whole 5p in Superdrug! 5 pence and I am being serious. It was marked up on the shelf as 49p which in itself was fantastic bargain and then I got it to the till and it came up as 5p which was bloody brilliant.

And it's actually not half bad as concealer brushes go which is even better! So check out your local Superdrug to see if there are any floating about if you're looking for a bargain brush.

Daisy & Delilah London @ Superdrug

Superdrug have always had a jewellery stand or two (depending on the size of the store) lurking around and looking generally a little bit out of place that I've always felt was a bit overpriced and a little bit tackyto to be honest. I've always kind of bypassed it apart from when there's been red stickers to say it's in the sale as I am unable to resist any type of sale - just ask my mum!

However in the past couple of months I've been finding myself looking at the jewellery stand more and more each time I go in and that's mainly to do with the new brand they seem to be stocking - Daisy & Delilah London range. This week however the earrings from the Daisy & Delilah Range particularly caught my eye. A pack of three pairs of earrings for a £2.00 which I of course had to get both the stars and hearts - it would be rude not to!

So next time you're in Superdrug don't bypass the jewellery stand as you might just find some hidden gems!

Superdrug Haul

Recently Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer on all across their make up and there were a few bits I've been wanting to try so I made the mistake of picking up a basket and I ended up putting a few bits in there!

The first thing were the Make Up Revolution Radiance and Highlighter Palettes - £8.00 each.

Both of these palettes contain either of each powder i.e 3 Radiance and 3 Highlighter powders whereby each Radiance powder separately is £6 each and each Highlighter Powder is £3 each so it works out as really good value to get the palettes.

Top: Radiance Powder Palette Bottom: Highlighter Powder Palette

Another Make Up Revolution purchase in my haul were 2 of their baked blushes in All I Think About Is You and Hard Day both £2.50 each.

Left:All I Think About Is You Right: Hard Day

I then decided to add some more primers to my already rather large collection with a known and trusted favourite of mine - Bourjois Happy Light Primer in Matte which is £10.99. This is a little bit more pricey for drugstore brands but this is one of my favourite primers and my third bottle in under a year!

And then from the more affordable end of drugstore make-up is the MakeUp Academy or MUA Pro-Base Primer at a bargain £4.00 (not currently available on the Superdrug website).

Then to complete the haul was another MakeUp Academy product in the form of MUA Matte Perfect Shine Control Loose Powder for £2.50 and then finally the Collection Naturally Matt Foundation in Shade 2 Ivory for £2.99.

I just need to avoid going into Superdrug now to stop me spending any more money especially when there are 3 for 2 offers on!

Tresemme Bargains

Since starting my new job has meant that I am now right again back in the middle of town and surrounded by shops on a daily basis which has made it very difficult for me to restrain myself from spending. However this week I managed to buy all these Tresemme products for the grand total of £1.25!

£1.25 - I kid you not!

They are all from Superdrug and I needed to let you know in case there are any in your local stores - GO GET THEM!

The three products I got were the following -

Tresemme Pro Shine Last Hold Fixing Spray - 25p (not online)
Tresemme Pro Shine Ultimate Hold Volume Mousse - 10p (1.50 online)
Tresemme Pro Shine Heat Style Primer - 10p (£1.50 online)

These products were all from the X Factor Limited Edition range hence why I think they were reduced but I'm more than happy with my purchases

So if you are near a Superdrug then you might want to pop in and see if there's any left!

My New Dry Shampoo Favourites

So wow we're in November already and I have to honestly say I have absolutely no idea where on earth the last month has gone - is it me or is this year just going super super quick? I mean we're on the countdown to Christmas already - well I should say I am anyway. The John Lewis advert certainly got me in the mood & I'm actually excited to see the Coca Cola advert - that's when I know Christmas is officially on it's way for me.

But enough of all that I've recently been getting quite lazy with my hair and trying to prolong my washes as I feel after 2 days my hair doesn't really need a wash but then bang in the morning it looks so limp and in need of a wash just when I have no time. My saving grace has been dry shampoos of which I've discovered a new found love for not something that I thought I really would if I'm totally honest.

When Batiste first came on the market I was all over it just because it was the new 'it' product but I never really fell in love with it as for some reason it never really had the desired effect on my hair and that's from trying out various versions. However recently I've been discovering some great dry shampoos and there are 3 in particular that I have been loving and hence reaching for on a daily basis. I've also found that these dry shampoos also give my hair a good amount of volume when used.

Left To Right: Colab Paris. Garnier Ultimate Blends. Urban Fudge Crisp Pear & Sweet Vanilla.

1- Colab Dry Shampoo Paris - So the latest Youtuber collaboration and this time with Ruth Crilly from A Model Recommends and I have to say by far in my opinion best collaboration/range yet! I love this dry shampoo so much to the point that it is the best dry shampoo that I have used & allows my hair to actually go that extra day without the wash.
It also revitalises my hair after it's been washed - I hate that just washed feeling and I usually spray a bit of this in it just to get rid of the un-flat/too clean feeling I feel. Plus the smell is amazing and I've yet to actually witness any residue left over which is another bonus!

There are 5 in the range (Paris, London, New York, Tokyo & Rio) all available from Superdrug in both 200ml (£2.99) and in the smaller travel sized 50ml (£1.99) version.

Also available from www.feelunique.com.

2- Garnier Ultimate Blends - This is 'The Silky 7-in1 dry shampoo'. Garnier has big claims for this product with it claiming to do the following 7 things -

- Instantly cleanses
- Absorbs grease at the roots
- Lightweight feel
- Hair feels supple to the touch
- Hair easy to detangle
- Blissful fragrance
- Leaves no visible residue.

Now it's big claims but I believe from my use of this product that it does exactly all of this. The smell is the one of the most refreshing smells of a dry shampoo I've come across and I have definitely never had any visible residue.

This is slightly more expensive at £3.99 but for the smell alone it's certainly worth it in my opinion. Available from Superdrug and Boots with Boots also stocking the Garnier Ultimate Blends Revitalising Dry Shampoo which I haven't yet tried but if you have then let me know!

3- Urban Fudge Crisp Pear & Sweet Vanilla Dry Shampoo. So at £5.99 this one is the most expensive of the 3 but you are always able to get this on offer as currently it's £2.98 in Superdrug and £3.99 in Boots so if you can get it on offer it's a bit of a bargain.

Although it's not my favourite out of the 3 it's still in my opinion a great dry shampoo that really does get rid of grease however for me the only problem with it is that it tends to leave my hair a bit fluffy which I know sounds very strange but that's honestly my only issue. Apart from that it has a fab scent and it has only ever left the tiniest bit of residue!

All three of these are really great dry shampoos and great alternatives to the classic Batiste if like me you've never felt the love, never got on with it or simply just looking for some other dry shampoos. There are some great ones on the market at the moment that are definitely worth a try!
