New Products: L'oreal, Batiste, Benefit & Coke

L'oreal have launched a brand new trio of Pure Clay Face Masks - Detox Mask, Purity Mask & Glow Mask. The one I picked up was the Pure Clay Detox Mask that detoxifies and clarifies your skin.

You apply a thin layer all over a clean face and then wait between 5 and 10 minutes. The mask tightens on the skin and starts to expose your pores as time goes on and then once the time is up, you simply remove the mask with warm water. They do say that this should be used between 2-3 times a week and with continued use your skin will be 'transformed'.

All three of the masks in the collection are currently £5.00 in Boots - will normally be £7.99.

Batiste have been branching out and expanding their product range in the past year with the Batiste Stylist range. The newest edition I found sitting on the shelves was the Hydrating Oil Mist

This weightless, non-greasy oil mist hydrates the hair and also protects against any breakages. I haven't really used this yet but it's definitely something I will be now it's so hot outside as my hair is definitely in need of some hydration.

This is priced at £4.49.

Benefit are known for their cult products that everyone raves about and everyone loves but until now there's never been a product that I've actually felt like 'Yes it's worth the money!' And it's all down to the Gimme Brow Volumising Brow Gel.

So I got this generous sized sample in with the August Glamour Magazine as a free gift and I am so glad that I did. I am the laziest person with my eye brows to the point my mum and sister nag me about I need to sort them out. Also I tend to over pluck and so it sometimes looks as though I don't even have a pair however this stuff instantly makes them appear - it instantly volumises them. It does it without faff or hassle and I thank you Benefit!

This is £18.50 - pricey I know - but I really love this a lot!

And finally Coke have done 2 special bottles for the Ab Fab movie and I adore them.

I just really like these so thought I'd give them a little mention. These can be bought in Boots for £2.50 but I got mine on buy one get one free!

New Products: Simple Skincare

As soon as I see a new product I immediately have a little buzz of excitement and generally it doesn't matter what brand it's from or what is it - if it's new I'm in! So last week I spotted that not only was Simple Skincare half price in Superdrug but there were also a couple of products that were new!

So the new new Simple products I picked were the Dual Effect Eye Make-Up Remover and Hydrating Cleansing Oil.

I am always looking for a new eye make-up remover and I particularly liked the look of this one because it was a dual effect -with oil and water infused combination- that you shake to activate.

My first impressions of this product is that it really does works and as promised it dissolves my waterproof mascara! There's no strong scent to it and doesn't cause me any irritation at all around the eye area which is fantastic.

The second product is the hydrating cleansing oil which is unlike any other product within the Simple Skincare range. This is like most other cleansing oils in that the purpose is to dissolve any make-up whilst hydrating your skin.

My first impressions of this product is that it doesn't feel heavy or greasy on my face like other oils and once it's washed off it's completely gone, my face doesn't feel sticky like the effect some products have. I haven't used this as much as the eye make-up remover so as I use it more I will let you know if my opinion changes.

I have tried to get links for these products online but can't actually find a link for them at the moment I'm afraid. I did get mine from Superdrug though and currently all of their Simple Skincare is half price so might be worth checking out!

Let me know if you try these and what your opinion is!

Skincare Treats

Half Price + Double Points Voucher = Skincare treats for myself from Superdrug! And I'm quite pleased with my purchases!

This product is amazing! I have just finished using up my last jar of this and I can honestly say my skin feels so good after using this. I've previously used Clinique Moisture Surge and this for me gives very similar results - with a much lower price point.

The packaging is in a glass jar which gives the product a nice more premium touch and the gel formula just really works for me! Massive thumbs up for this little jar of wonder!

I am a huge fan of facial water sprays that help cool you down when it's hot and don't make a mess of your make up but this product from Superdrug's B.Confident range is apparently an 'Instant skin Reviver'.

Now I haven't really had a chance to give this a good test out yet but so far I've found that is sinks into the skin quickly, no spray lingering and not setting in but I really can't stand the smell. And I can't really describe it either but maybe it will grow on me after a bit of use.

My final skincare treat is from Olay and this is from their Hydration range. The product I picked up was the 2 in 1 Lightweight Lotion with SPF 15 which was probably the selling point for me. I have a lot of moisturisers/lotions/creams but actually not that contain an SPF and with it being summer - when it gets here - it's so important to have an SPF.

Another thing I love about Olay is the classic smell which always reminds of my mum who has used Olay products for as long as I can remember. P.S the mini bottle size makes it extra cute to stick on my dressing table :).

Empties 2015 #3

So not a huge lot of empties this time round but a few products that I haven't mentioned before so before I get stockpiling them again I thought I'd do a short and sweet empties post.

Dirty Works Body Scrub Sainsburys £4.00 - This contains shea butter, sweet almond oil and vitamin E. It's an OK scrub in my opinion, not the best and not the worse but definitely a lot nicer than the one the in range that comes in the tub. I don't think I'd repurchase however.

Anovia Sugar Scrub Savers £1.00 - For the price point there are no complaints from me on this scrub, it's not too harsh and it smells pretty good and it's one that I do seem to purchase anytime I go to Savers so no complaints.

Organic Surge 2 minute moisture mask TKMaxx £3.99 - Contains pure coconut oil and plant extracts.
This is quite possibly my favourite hair mask of all time. It's formulated for dry or frizzy hair and due to a lot of heat that I use on my hair it can become a bit of both but after smothering my hair in this for 2 minutes and washing it off, my hair becomes instantly revived. Big Love.

Dove Advanced Series Pure Care Dry Oil Conditioner Boots £5.99 This left my hair feeling so soft and I was rather hesitant to spend the money on the shampoo and conditioner as for Dove it is a higher price point than their other shampoos and conditioners but it's definitely worth it. These products are a little bit more luxurious so after using them I didn't mind spending the extra money.

John Freida Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Masque Superdrug £5.99   Now for this luckily I didn't actually pay the full price as I managed to get it on offer as I do really like the product but for the money it seems as though you barely get anything in there. I used this 3 times and the third time wasn't really a proper mask because there wasn't enough product left. So I like it and it has a delicious smell but guys give more product or reduce the price!

Nivea Daily Essentials Extra Gentle Eye Make Up Remover Superdrug £3.49 This barely removed my mascara so not one that I will be repurchasing in a hurry as I'm sure there are better eye make up removers out there.

Palmer's Daily Calming Facial Lotion

Palmer's products have always been a bit hit and miss with me - I like their lip balms, the price and the quality of them are really unbeatable but I'm not a fan of their hand cream all that much. I also had to give away one of their body lotions because the smell of the coca butter was too overpowering for me and I just couldn't use it.

However I have found one of their products that I use on a daily basis and cannot rave enough about - Daily Calming Facial Lotion. Simply it's a moisturizer. The thing about this moisturizer is that it actually for once does what it says on the packaging -

 'Reduces redness and irritation
   Calms stressed skin'

And it really does do all that. I know when I have wake up with redness that this will help with that. It absorbs into the skin quickly so is great when you are in a rush or if you are planning on putting your make up straight after applying. It's lightweight so it can be used in summer as well as winter as it's not heavy on the skin and it generally makes my skin on my face feel a lot fresher - I can feel and see the difference when I've used a different cream on my face.

I will say as much as I really do like this moisturizer, it one thing missing - it has no SPF in it. Which means for me I either have to double up on a moisturizer or go without as I don't wear anything but primer and powder on top and neither of those contain an SPF. That is for me my only moan about an otherwise really great product and the coca butter smell doesn't for some reason smell as strong in this like the other products which is a bonus as well.

If you want to try it out for yourself then it's available from Superdrug is currently on offer for £3.95 normal price £5.99.

Empties 2015 #2

I seem to be using up more and more products these days which is great because not only does it mean that the amount of products that I am having to store goes down it also means that I can finally get round to doing Empties posts.

So as you can see from photo above I have a lovely basket of empties which has a range of different products all used up! I will give a brief overview as well as the links to the products but I will try and not ramble and bore you all as there are quite a few for me to get through.

The first empties I have is Hair Products which is unusual for me to have so many as I normally get half way through a hair product, get bored and buy something new but lately I've been sticking it out and trying the product till the end to make sure I test it out properly and to stop wasting product.

So from the picture above the following empties are from left to right -

Urban Fudge De Gunk Deep Clean Shampoo (no link online) - This shampoo was absolutely amazing and did really deeply clean my hair and I also rarely used conditioner alongside this product as I felt my hair was better with just the use of the shampoo and it also has the most amazing citrus/mint smell! This is not online but is available in Superdrug.

Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Shampoo £3.89 - This shampoo was for me personally a letdown, it just did nothing for my hair and because it was such a large bottle felt like it lasted forever which is good if you like a shampoo but when it doesn't make too much of a difference is a bit annoying. The only thing I felt this shampoo has going for it is that it smells like coconut which I found absolutely divine!

Dove 2 in 1 Nutritive Solutions Daily Care Shampoo and Conditioner £3.99 currently £1.97 for 400ml - Not too much I can say about this apart from another great hair care product from Dove and this is perfect for my lazy days when I can't be bothered to shampoo and condition my hair separately.

Ultime Essence Omega Repair Mask £5.99 currently £1.99 - At first I hated this hair mask, I felt as though my hair was horribly greasy and just felt unclean once styled but the more I used this mask the better it got and actually made my hair incredibly soft. However my favourite hair mask that I repeatedly buy is Dove Hair Nourishing Oil Care Repair Mask £4.59. You can leave this mask on for 2 minutes or 10 minutes, depending how much repair you want to give your hair and afterwards my hair just feels so weightless, soft and refreshed which is everything I want my hair to be.

Boots Skin Clear Deep Cleansing Lotion which I've mentioned time and time before, it's one of my trusty holy grail products that I always have a spare or 2 in the cupboard waiting and then a new face product - Nivea Pure and Natural Cleansing Toner £3.49.
Now Nivea is for skin care like Dove is to me for hair care but I was so unimpressed with this product and I don't really know why if I'm being honest. It wasn't a truly terrible toner or anything but I just feel as someone who really loves Nivea products that this was just not good enough for the money so won't be repurchasing this in the future.

So my 2 final empties are Primers and the first one is Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Sensitive Skin £4.99 which is a primer I've been using for years. I just love the hydrating factor of it and in the mornings when sometimes I wake up and don't moisturise I find that if I use this it acts unofficially as a 2 in 1 primer/moisturiser.

My final empty is Witch Anti-Blemish Skin Clearing Primer which I find just amazing BUT suddenly it's DISAPPEARED from the shelves of Superdrug, Boots, Savers etc etc plus it's no longer on their websites. I am assuming this has meant that it's been discontinued which makes me sad face because I love this product. Much like the Nivea primer this also moisturises although this isn't as heavy which always made me reach for this when I was in a rush and needed to apply my make up straight on top instead of waiting for it to sink in.

It was also great when my skin wasn't being particularly co-operative and so could therefore apply as I knew the primer would act as a barrier to the make up and clear my skin. Unfortunately I won't be using this again as this was my last bottle but never mind I'll have to find something just as good to replace it!

So that is my empties for now, as it's taken me so long to write this up I have managed to accumulate for empties for another post very soon! But let me know if you've tried any of the products I've mentioned and your thoughts on them!

Thanks for reading!
