Superdrug & Savers Bargains

Superdrug & Savers are little devils! Every time I go into them they lure me in (clearly the company are trying to make sure we spend money in either one or the other or in my case both) with their great deals and broad range of products that you can't seem to find anywhere else. My bank statement must literally read Superdrug, Savers, Superdrug, Savers for most of the transactions.
I can't resist.
I'm terrible.
I don't need anymore products.
But such good prices.
I couldn't resist.
And I caved.

So it's not terrible but when I put in perspective I did not require one of these products then it's not exactly great but never mind.
So where to start?
Hair maybe seeing as it's the first thing I seem to panic about in the morning to if it's looking ok or needing a wash or not.

So Schwarzkopf have launched a new time of products Essence Ultime which has been developed with Claudia Schiffer.

Now I chose the Omega Repair Shampoo and Conditioner as I've already been using the Omega Repair Beauty Balm for hair from their range and have noticed a big difference in the softness and condition of my hair and these were both on offer for £2.49 instead of the usual £4.99 in Superdrug so I thought I'd grab them and see if they'd improve my hair condition anymore! They are for damaged and depleted hair and I tend to use a lot of heat on mine which takes it's toll inevitably however there are other products in the range such as ones for coloured hair, volume and shine so the chances are whatever your the condition of your hair there is no doubt a product for you!

Now everyone is currently on the micellar water hype and i am no different as I've been using the L'oreal one on a daily basis and I have been loving it but there are now so many out on the market and whilst in Superdrug I was scanning the shelves I noticed that another one appeared on the shelves - this time from Nivea.

I haven't seen this product anywhere else - I've looked in Boots, Asda & Savers and it was not there so I don't know if it's a case of just them not stocking it yet. This is called the Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water which is for Sensitive Skin but that's only because it's not harsh on your skin - I personally think that this would be fine for anyone to use. The normal selling price is around the £4.00 mark but as an intro offer Superdrug currently have this on offer for £2.72. So well worth it if you are wanting to try out a different micellar water at a good price.

My next stop was Savers where I continued with the Nivea theme again as they are one of my favourite brands for skincare and picked up a new cleansing toner and cleansing lotion for £1.99 each from their Pure & Natural range.

Then the final product I bought also from Savers for the bargain price of 79p were the Kleenex Cotton Touch Facial Cloths. These are just like cotton wool pads but instead it's tissue sized and allows you to be able to do your whole face for example with a toner rather than having to use about 2 or 3 cotton pads.

I've used these a couple of times but am reserving judgement on them until I've finished the box to see if I'd repurchase them or not but for 79p it wasn't really going to harm me to try them out!

So there's my Superdrug and Savers bargains I've picked up although I definitely think that I need to start putting myself on a spending ban because I'm otherwise going to run out of room to put everything!

Bargain Make Up Brush Haul

I have to admit that lately I have been going a little bit crazy for make up brushes - I'm not sure why but  it just seems that if I see a brush that I like the look of that I don't have in my collection I just need to purchase it! It's definitely becoming a little out of hand. On the other hand I have managed to pick up some bargain brushes this week so I thought I'd do a brush haul for you all so you can see what I've been buying!

Now the first place I went for brushes was one of my favourite places for make up and beauty products at amazing prices - TK Maxx! I seem to go in there on a daily basis! The first brushes I picked up there were the Real Techniques Core Collection set which was priced at £14.99 instead of the usual retail price of £21.99.

This set comes with (left to right) a contour brush, pointed foundation brush, detailer brush and buffing brush plus a 2 in 1 stand and case that is super handy for travelling! This set is also available in Boots for £21.99 & Superdrug for £20.99 if either you don't have a TK Maxx or your local one doesn't have the sets in. The set is also available on www.allbeauty.com for £14.65 which is again even cheaper!

Although I am yet to use this set I have already bought the Real Techniques Blush Brush which has fast become one of my favourites so I'm sure that this set won't disappoint as this has also received some great reviews.

Again keeping in TK Maxx I managed to pick up 2 more brushes at bargain prices but this time from EcoTools.

Flat Foundation Brush & Domed Bronzer
I picked up a Flat Foundation brush for £3.99 instead of the usual price of £7.99 and the Domed Bronzer Brush which was also £3.99 instead of the usual price of £9.99. Both of these brushes are available from Boots as well if again you don't have or your local TK Maxx doesn't stock them. I will say that my TK Maxx seems to be having a constant supply of EcoTools Brushes at the moment so I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

The next brush was from H & M's make up collection which I do have quite a strong love for - if you haven't already then seriously you need to check it out because they have some really great products as well as some seriously good make up brushes for amazing prices. The one I picked up which can be seen below is just a make up brush that with the black handle the red hearts on it and a white and red bristles which is shaped like a heart as well! Seriously so cute and for £1.99 how could I leave it? Even if I don't use it, it's seriously going to look so cute.

And the final brush in this haul was the cheapest and one of my favourites that this is actually the 4th one of these I have bought and for £1.00 it's hardly breaking the bank!

This is from the brand MUST Make Up Studio that is stocked in Savers. The bristles are nylon but are seriously so smooth and this brush is so good for applying foundation as well as concealer! The only downside to these brushes is that they aren't so easy to get clean but then again that could just be more of a case of how I wash my brushes than the brush itself! For a £1.00 I'd recommend a try even if you don't like it there's always potential you might!

Any of you found any bargain make up brushes then let me know!!

H & M Love Again

For a while now H & M has been really disappointing me and I haven't actually purchased anything from there in ages both online and in store however yesterday after work I popped in there to see what they had - just to check out for payday purchases and I loved so much. For the first time in ages there was actually really nice items that if I had had the money I would have bought!

Then today I had a look online and found even more so now it's going to be a case of deciding what I actually need rather than what I actually want! Safe to say my love for H & M is back once again with their spring/summer collections and I can't wait to see what else they bring out!

Lily Lolo

For the past few weeks I've been hearing more and more about Lily Lolo through both Blogs and Vlogs and then almost like a sign I had a little nosy in the make up section of TK Maxx one day on my way to work and right there were some Lily Lolo products.
For those that don't know about Lily Lolo or may like me until a few weeks ago may never have heard of the brand they are as stated on their website:

' A British brand offering an expertly formulated range of high-performance, high quality mineral makeup must-haves to help you achieve flawless natural beauty.'

It was launched in 2005 by founder Vikki Khan who named the brand after her 2 sisters (cute!).

The products are also free of parabens, synthetic perfumes and also dyes which means that they won't cause outbreaks or clogging of your pores which is always a good thing. The products are very natural but that doesn't mean that they simply lack in quality.

The two products that I managed to pick up for a bargain £5.99 instead of their RRP of £19.99 were two face products - Shimmer Stripes. Two lovely blush/highlighter products that are absolutely gorgeous.

Left: Rose Glow Right: Honey Glow
Now as you can see in the picture above they are both products are quite subtle in the colours which for me is great as I'm not someone who likes to look like I am wearing a lot of make up these two really just give a glow. In particular Honey Glow is more of a highlighter than I have taken to wearing as a blush simply because it gives a nice natural glow to my complexion which is perfect for an effortless day look when you don't want to wear too much make up.

Honey Glow
Rose Glow on the other hand is more of a light weight blusher than a highlighter which will also be great for the summer as I don't tend to have too many too many lighter pigmented blushers which I tend to prefer instead of the heavy blusher look.

Rose Glow
Although both of the shimmer stripes do last a good amount of time they do need a little top up during the day but I find this with a few of my lighter blushers so this isn't for me an issue for me. I absolutely love both these blusher/highlighter products and can't wait to actually try out some more Lily Lolo products in the future.

e.l.f Daily Moisture Stick

Way back in November I did a post about my e.l.f Haul (click here) and all the products that I had decided to purchase. One of the products that was in my haul was the e.l.f Daily Moisture Stick  that was the most expensive item at £8.00 but as it was 50% off at the time I thought that for £4.00 I would see what it had to offer.

The truth is since then it's just really sat in my make up box not really being used as I didn't know when to use it. The formula of the stick is clear and when put on to the skin offers a cooling effect with the packaging of the product reminding me of a giant lipstick.

On the e.l.f website itself they describe the stick as:

'Daily Mositure Stick is an easy to use clear gel formulation that nourishes and hydrates the skin. This light-weight and soothing multi-purpose balm is enriched with antioxidants and anti-ageing ingredients including - grape, cocoa, shea, avocado and macadamia, aloe and chamomile. The sleek, convenient packaging is perfect for travel and everyday use to condition and moisturise skin, both at home and on the go!'

After doing some research and watching Youtube and blog reviews it actually made me pick up the stick and for the past month I've started using it and it has certainly been a welcome addition. It's absolutely perfect for when you get half way through the day and you feel like your face is getting dry to literally just press over your face and still keeps your make up intact. Alternatively you can also press your finger against the stick and apply to your face that way.

I find this particularly useful to use under my eyes as they often get slightly puffy towards the end of the day and using this literally just perks them up and stops me looking like I desperately need a nap which is very useful if I'm heading out after a long day at work. The design of the packaging is also really handy to simply just be able to pop into my bag or clutch which is definitely a bonus for me.

For £8.00 I do think that it is actually a good price for the benefits of the stick and I've been using this a fair bit and there is still absolutely loads left so in terms of value for money I do think that you're definitely getting a good deal. I haven't really come across anything that is similar myself personally so if you do know any alternatives or other similar products to this then please do let me know as  I will be really interested in your recommendations.

Mini TK Maxx Haul

I am the biggest fan of  bargains and I think that is probably why I love going to TK Maxx because with every product in there you are feeling that you are getting a good deal! I went in there a few weeks ago and just picked up a few random bits so I thought I'd do a post on my Mini TK Maxx Haul.

Here goes!

So the first stop for me in TK Maxx was upstairs in the kitchen/storage container compartments and I really could have bought about 10 different tins and boxes until I told myself that I have absolutely no room for these items and just stopped at the two.

Purple Floral Tin: £2.99 & Green Floral Round Tin: £2.49

Now I settle on these two because I loved the colours and the price it has to be said. I'm ashamed to say they are still in the bag as I haven't quite worked out what I'm going to put in them but it will probably be some form of storage as I am always needing tins and boxes for my vast amounts of rubbish.

The second stop I made was into the books and paper section but I wasn't very impressed with what they had on offer which was a surprise cause normally I always end up picking something up in this section. Undeterred however I then made my way down to the hair/skin care section and picked up two absolutely bargains!

Both £4.99
I managed to pick up two products from the Percy & Reed Range for a cool £4.99 each which for these products was like a miracle price. I did debate if I needed both but then caved and thought for the price it wouldn't hurt to try them out.

The first Percy & Reed product I picked up was the 'It's So Cool Heat Protect Styling Mist' which retails for £18.00 normally. This is basically a heat protector spray but unlike a lot of heat protectors this can be used on both wet and dry hair - depending on how you need to use it. Since getting this product it has been my go to heat protector because I can use it on wet or dry hair and I have noticed that my hair has never felt so soft after styling since using this.

The second product I picked up from the range was the 'Brilliantly Beautiful Superglossing Mask' which normally retails at £18.00 also. Unlike the styling mist that I've been using on a regular basis I have only used this once so far so I haven't really got an opinion on if I like it or loathe it. The only thing I will say about both products is that I'm not a massive fan of the smell which kind of puts me off using the mask again as I don't like the lingering smell on my hair after using it.

Now my final stop was of course to the make up section which has lately seen me go into TK Maxx just for the sole purpose of a stop to the make up section! I would say it has been become slightly addictive and quite expensive in the process. However I only picked up one make up product which was the COLOREVOLUTION 3pc Starter Kit in the shade fair to light.

£7.99
The set contains 3 100% Pure Mineral Powders with a foundation, blush and shimmer as can be seen in the picture below.

Left to Right: Foundation, Blush, Shimmer

I actually haven't tried any of these yet and it's actually all still sitting in the box but I will do a full review on all all three of these to let you know how they are as products!

So there's my mini TK Maxx Haul! Although since I have been in there again so I will be posting another haul from there very soon!

Thanks for reading.
