Why I do Motivational Monday?

So every day I wake up and face the same battle of getting the motivation to drag myself out of bed, put a smile on my face and get through the day. And it literally feels like a battle for me! I do my weekly 'Motivational Monday' posts because for me it's incredibly hard to get motivated and take on each day and no more so than on a Monday.

A Monday morning is officially for me the end of the weekend and back to the working week whereby I have to get through the next five days of work before I feel I can really relax again probably. So 'Motivational Monday' is for all those that struggle like me on a Monday morning because once you get Monday over, each morning it gets a little bit easier to get motivated.

Little Pick Me Up Via Boots

So after finishing work yesterday I felt a little, not exactly down but just kind of.......flat?!! Maybe. You know the feeling where you've been at work and then you get to the end of the shift and its all a bit blah, blah, blah.

That was ME.

So even though I shouldn't be spending (sorry mum), I did pop a few bits into my basket in Boots!

The first thing I popped into my basket was a Christmas gift I thought I'd treat myself to which is the Soap & Glory Gloss It Girl Christmas Cracker Set £14.00.

The set contains 5 mini Sexy Mother Pucker Lip  Glosses which are all 4ml each and for once in a set all of the glosses are all colours that I will probably actually wear which is pretty rare to like all the shades in gift sets for me.

Left to right - Candy Queen, Spun Sugar, Plumsup, Nudestar, Bare Enough
As you can see from the picture above all the colours are pretty neutral apart from Plumsup so as a gift this would be perfect for Christmas as these would suit pretty much anyone. Also with these lip glosses is that they do give a slight sensation when you apply them! These are also absolutely perfect for popping in your handbag!

So I don't need another lipstick but I don't own a red and everyone seems to always rave about the Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 107 so I thought why not?

This is quite a dark cherry red that I definitely will need a liner to stop it bleeding out but am looking forward to seeing how this looks.

I also added another Max Factor Creme Puff Blush to my already ridiculously large blush collection in 15 Lavish Pink. These blushes are absolutely brilliant and I already have 20 Lavish Mauve so thought I'd try another colour.

I also picked up the latest Barry M palette - Get Up and Glow. This contains 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter and 3 blushers.

Also the Blistex MedPlus Repairing LipBalm as it's got to the time of year again where my lips are getting dry and none of my lipbalms are currently cutting it with making them better so might as well give this a whizz.

And finally my only skincare buy of the day which was the Botanics Hydration Burst Dual Action Cleanser which I'm not sure if it's new or not or if I just have never noticed it before but I am really interested to see how this works. It;s for dehydrated and sensitive skin as well which is perfect as mine is currently quite dehydrated.

So there's all my little pick me bits after my blah day which I will be trying to not make a habit.

Motivational Monday 23/11/2015

1- You can't cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.

2- Make today so awesome that yesterday gets jealous.

3- Do all that you can and all that you thought you could not.

H & M Picks November 2015

I've been having a bit of a clear out lately, trying to get rid of all the clothes that I don't wear anymore or have never worn and giving to either family or charity or depending how worn they are getting rid of them.

So although I am not actually looking to buy and trying my hardest to resist spending any money (I am trying to save), it hasn't stopped me having a sneak peak online and H & M have yet again made me question if I should whip out my debit card or not?!! So far I haven't but these are my top picks from their latest collection!

Motivational Monday 16/11/2015

You are the author of your own story. If you're stuck on the same page, remember that at any moment, you have the power to write a new chapter.

I saw this quote on Twitter a few days ago and knew that it was one I had to use for my post today. I've tried to find who originally wrote it but as of yet I haven't found who did so if anyone knows then let me know!

But today feels like the start of a new chapter for me after I have been spinning round in circles for the last few months so hence that I decided to have this as my Motivational Monday quote plus this finally happened -

After what has felt like an absolute age and for many reasons/circumstances it has taken a little longer than it should have - I have finally graduated! Whoop and I have to say it is such a great sense of achievement as well as relief and it now feels like it's officially time that I can start writing the next chapter in my life!

Essence Liquid Lipsticks

Liquid Lipstick Gloss formula products have been popping up all over the place for the last couple of months and have now reaching even the budget brands. The latest discovery for me are the Essence Liquid Lipsticks that have the cutest, mini packaging with 6 shades available and priced at a brilliant £2.50 each.

Out of the six shades available the two that most appealed to me were 02 Beauty Secret -

and 06 Make A Statement -

Beauty Secret is an everyday wearable pink whereas for me personally Make A Statement comes out much darker on my lips so would be one I would personally wear on probably a night out or if I was going for dinner.

You can see the comparisons on the swatches below -

On the lips these don't come out terribly sticky and are fairly comfortable to wear however the only problem for me is I have to keep topping up as it's not very long lasting and tends to noticeably fade especially with Make A Statement as it's darker. To combat that problem I tend to wear a lip liner underneath so it's not as visible when it is fading but for the price I can't really complain!

Essence is available from Wilkinson and Superdrug - where I bought mine :-).

Motivational Monday 09/11/2015

So I didn't do a Motivational Monday post last week for a number of reasons with the main one I simply didn't feel at all motivated but I have had a nice surge of energetic motivation over the last few days and this image I found online really stuck with me!

This is how I need to start approaching every single day! Fingers crossed I can manage to do this at least more than once a week - how about you?

RT Bold Metals Collection Set

I am the biggest fan of make up brushes and trying out the latest ones released for some strange reason kind of excites me?!! I fell in love with brushes heavily last year when I bought my first ever Real Techniques set and since then I have bought a varied range of brands but RT still remain one of my firm favourites.

So when I saw the Bold Metals Collection set advertised for £30.00 in Boots on a limited special deal I did everything in my power to resist purchasing. I really did! I put it in my basket online but never checked out and lovingly gazed at the set every time I went into store and still resisted. But yesterday I popped in for once as I had to make a necessary purchase and just grabbed one and before I knew it I was at the till paying but having stared at them constantly for the last 15 minutes - I'm not that weird honest - I am so relieved that I did buy them!

The set comes in a silver box and within the set there is the 103 Angled Powder Brush (exclusive to the set) which is the gold one, the bronze brush is the 300 Tapered Blush (£24.00 if bought alone) and the silver one is the 200 Oval Shadow (£15.00 if bought alone). Also the set comes with a clutch for storing the brushes on the go.

This set will be £64.00 when it's full price so it's definitely worth grabbing a set if like me you didn't fancy splashing out over £20 on a make up brush. The offer ends today but if you can still get the set for £30.00 online at Boots. So go grab yourself one!

Collection #BlushAndGlow Palette

Collection have been releasing lots of new products lately which if like me you are on a budget it's brilliant because they are usually of good quality considering the price point. One of their latest releases I've been particularly taken with is their #BlushAndGlow palette.

This little wonder consists of 2 blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter and is all for the amazing price of £4.99 and I am not kidding you! Now the bronzer isn't something that I'm likely to use because it's a bit too dark for my pale complexion but both of the blushes are stunning and the highlight can be built up depending on how you much or little you would like.

The packaging on this isn't great, it's flimsy cardboard and there's no mirror for on the go top ups but for the money the pigmentation of the blushes especially is really good and on me they last a good 4/5 hours. If you want this palette then get down to Boots now who are exclusively stocking this - you won't be disappointed.
